Who We Are

Collaboration is fundamental to creating a safe campus. While offices such as the Safe Office, Office of Wellbeing, and Title IX take leadership roles, it’s crucial they don’t operate in isolation. Recognizing this, the Coalition Against Interpersonal Violence was formed to promote extensive collaboration and engage stakeholders across campus. This collaborative approach acknowledges the complexity of addressing interpersonal violence, emphasizing the need for coordinated action across sectors. Alongside these offices, the coalition includes staff, faculty, and students from various offices, departments, and student groups. Together, we amplify our impact, fostering synergy in tackling interpersonal violence. With collective dedication, we aim to cultivate a safer and more supportive campus environment for everyone.

Coalition Overview

The Wake Forest University Campus Life Strategic Vision includes, as one of its tenets, the evolution toward becoming a health-promoting university with an environment where caring for oneself and caring for others is essential to our programming and practices. This includes unifying work related to interpersonal violence on campus. We are committed to a comprehensive approach to wellbeing, which actively advances the work of campus-wide public health coalitions to elevate our work within the framework of the eight (8) dimensions of wellbeing. The Coalition Against Interpersonal Violence employs trauma-informed and evidence-based approaches and knowledge to guide our scope of work.
